Mystic Garden Party Moves to The Water Wheel Park in Manton, CA

I’m looking forward to the Mystic Garden Party because it's a Northern California festival that is all about consciousness of planet, spirit, music food and people ~ Michael Franti

JULY 19, 2010 (Manton, CA)— Days after Tehama County denied a permit for their original Corning, CA location, organizers of the 4th Annual Mystic Garden Party (MGP) were able to secure a new venue, The Water Wheel Park in nearby Manton, CA. While organizers of MGP were disappointed by Tehama County’s decision to withhold the permit for the Tehama Gold Olive Ranch, The Water Wheel Park is an ideal location as it offers more shaded camping, a swimming pond to keep cool, and over 100 acres with plenty of space to ensure all activities move forward as planned.

Attendees from across the county who were looking forward to over fifty live musical performances by artists such as Michael Franti and Brett Dennon can rest assured that MGP is moving forward, with on-site camping, numerous performances and workshops on topics such as sustainability, raw and living foods, drumming, meditation, visionary and healing arts and more.

MGP is a non-alcohol, family friendly event committed to supporting positive social change, community activism, and global sustainability. MGP is particularly committed to raising awareness to our connection with water and how important good stewardship of water is for the quality of our lives today and for a sustainable future. The event will feature a live webcast of the Global Water Ceremony with participants at the event including Agnes Pilgrim (of the 13 indigenous grandmothers), Robert Venosa, Martine Hoffman, and also via webcast and pre-recorded video luminaries including Masaru Emoto (live from Brazil), Gangaji, Neale Donald Walsch, James Twyman, and Saida Desilets, Ph.D.

The Global Water Ceremony will draw an unprecedented number of participants from around the world and will begin a national water awareness effort in conjunction with the United Nation’s “Decade of Action” campaign. A percentage of festival proceeds will go toward efforts to clean the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

MGP Founder and Director Phil Lindsey states, “MGP is more than a festival. It represents part of a growing health and sustainable lifestyle movement. Our intent is really to raise the consciousness of humanity through music, arts, education, and ceremony. MGP is a party with a purpose.”

MGP is proud to be an eco-friendly event aiming for as ZERO WASTE as possible. In addition to use of recycling bins, attendees will be encouraged to use water bottles water bottle (rather than using plastic); green kits will be given to all vendors, encouraging food vendors to use plates & cups that are washed & reused (for a deposit), and carpooling opportunities will be posted on the festival website. A solar powered stage is also in development to reduce energy consumption.
